The Evil Empire

Although football season has just begun, one sport is in the stretch run for the playoffs. In baseball many teams are vying for those 8 spots that will ensure them a chance to play for that o so coveted World Series trophy, but this season one team has stood out from the rest and last night that team became the first in the major leagues to clinch a playoff berth. The New York Yankees equipped with their $ 208,097,414 payroll are poised to make a run at their unprecedented 27Th world championship. Now this brings up a question that has been asked throughout baseball for years. Can you really buy a championship ? Another question that I ask myself is it even fair to the game of baseball to have one player IE: Alex Rodriguez ($33,000,000) make more than a whole team IE: Pittsburgh Pirates (25,197,000) Just something to think about.
